Cycle to Cafe

Monk Fryston Cycle Club (MFCC) began as a few friends taking some gentle rides with a focus on getting a little fitter/losing a little weight. Since then the club has grown and the standard has risen from wheezing over Lumby Hill to confidently riding in the Alps. With various riders training for big events the current tempo is a little daunting, especially for newcomers.

The MFC2C rides represent a return to the club's roots; more modest distances and speeds with a cafe stop thrown in for good measure. MFC2C - Cycle to Cafe - will be a 30-40 mile ride starting from Monk Fryston Hall gates at 8am on Sundays, returning by 11am - an average speed of 14-15mph. We intend to run the ride every third Sunday of the month. Details of the ride will be on the Planned Rides page.

Fancy coming along? Please note :
  • It's a road-bike club - the speed/distance would be quite tough on a mountain bike. Hybrid bikes are ok, full-on road bikes are best
  • Lycra is optional
  • MFCC endorses the use of helmets
  • Advice on group riding is available.
Please get in touch with Jim, if you intend to come along, or would like more information.
